Tour Details

Join us on a 12 day tour and journey around the different areas of Pakistan to discover and learn how to create the different forms of art. This tour will make you look at all of the places you visit from the perspective of the artist within you. The trip will start from Lahore, from there we will move on to Islamabad, then Nathia Gali and eventually back to Lahore. We will be taking to you to various monuments to explore different forms of art. We will also be visiting markets, art galleries and museums and to dig deeper into the history of these crafts. We will also take you to some art schools and organize a few sessions with some artists from the region to look at art from their lens. This trip is a treat for all the art lovers out there.

Detailed Daily Itinerary

Day 1:

This will be a relaxed day. We will pick you up from the airport, after freshening up at the hotel we will head out to a market in Lahore to learn about the tie and dye process. There will be a group activity in which all of the participants will learn how to do tie and dye.

Day 2:

We will be visiting quite a few interesting places on this day. Faqir Khana museum is a treasure for art lovers with its wide variety of art collection. It has many beautiful miniature paintings. We will also be taking you to Lahore museum to explore the art from different eras. There will be two sessions organized to learn from miniature artists. One will be talking about old school miniature art and the other about contemporary art. Stay at Nishat Hotel Lahore.

Day 3:

Now it is time to visit the Walled city of Lahore that is full of art dating from Mughal, British and Sikh eras. We will be exploring the art at Delhi gate, Shahi hamaam, Wazir khan mosque, Lahore fort and Badshahi mosque. We will also make you ride on a colorful rikshaw popularly known as Rangeela rikshaw. This is going to be one hell of a ride. We will be exploring the ornamentation of the buildings in the walled city comprising of fresco, mosaic and tile work. We will then be visiting some havelis and also meet some art collectors to make things even more interesting.

Day 4:

Now it is time to visit some art schools of Lahore to find out about the art techniques being taught there. We will then be heading to Shalimar gardens and have a painting activity in these gardens built during the Mughal time period. In the evening we will head out to Wagah border to attend the flag lowering ceremony.

Day 5:

On this day we will be visiting some fabric printing units, comprising of screen printing, block printing etc. We will also visit some art studios of Lahore.

Day 6:

Time to leave Lahore now and explore art in other parts of Pakistan. We will be driving to Islamabad. We will break down the journey by stopping over at Rohtas fort along the way. Will have a scenic picnic lunch at this ancient fort. Stay at Ramada Hotel Islamabad.

Day 7:

Let’s start exploring the art in Islamabad. We will be visiting some beautiful monuments comprising of Faisal mosque; the largest mosque of Pakistan, and Pakistan monument; symbolizes the unity of Pakistani people. We will also be visiting Lok virsa museum, Golra railway station, Shah Allah dita caves, and Daman e koh. The day will end with a scrumptious dinner at Monal overlooking the entire city of Islamabad.

Day 8:

We will be visiting Taxila museum and site. Buddhism was widespread in the region before Islam’s introduction. UNESCO listed Taxila is one of the country’s biggest Buddhist sites, spanning hundreds of square kilometers. Will also visit Saidpur village and explore the art there. There is an old Hindu temple in Saidpur village. If you a lucky sometimes you can come across a melodious flute player in the area.

Day 9:

On this day we will head to Rawalpindi to explore the hustling and bustling bazaars full of vibrant colors and stunning architecture. We will be exploring different forms of arts and crafts in these markets. Will also explore the truck art market. We will be visiting an art school for underprivileged kids this day as well (PAGE?).

Overnight stay at Ramada Hotel Islamabad.

Day 10:

Time to head to the mountains now. We will be driving to Nathia Gali to explore the scenic landscape. Not just that; we will be having a landscape painting workshop in the mountains to create beautiful art.

Day 11:

This day will be spent sightseeing around Nathia Gali. We can go for a short trek if all the people are up for it, or the rest of this day can be spent painting as well.

Day 12:

Time to drive back to Lahore now. There will be a stop along the way to explore Katas Raj temples dating from the Hindu times. Will have picnic lunch once again.

We believe in being responsible and watchful of our actions while traveling. Through taking the following measures we try to ensure that we live by this motto and inculcate the same values in the people who travel with us.

  • Carry a portable water filter with us to reduce plastic waste. All the trip participants are advised to bring their water bottles that can be refilled from filtered water.
  • Carry our own boxes and cloth bags to get things packed from restaurants and to use while shopping, in order to avoid the use of single use plastic boxes and shopping bags.
  • Sometimes we organize spontaneous cleanup drives and engage the participants of the trip to collect trash from a certain area.
  • We support local communities by engaging local tour guides and buying from local businesses, in order to ensure growth and welfare of their economy.
  • £25 of every booking goes towards PAGE & Shahid Afridi Foundation, two charities in Pakistan that we support.
  • This tour has been developed with a local female entrepreneur, to promote female entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
