A visit to Saidu Sharif in the lower valley and Kalam in upper valley would be an enchanting experience.
Prices have been quoted based on dual occupancy at 5 star hotels or at the best accommodation possible, where the 5 star chains do not operate. If you are a family or a group of friends going, it would not be as simple as multiplying the guide prices provide by x number, as there are a number of variables. The itinerary provided is a suggested plan and can be adapted to suit your requirements.
DAY 1: ISLAMABAD
Early morning reception and transfer to hotel. Enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you will be taken on a tour of Islamabad to visit the Grand Faisal Mosque, Shakar Purian Hill to have a bird’s eye view of the Panoramic Islamabad, a well-planned city like Canberra and Brazil.
You will then be taken on a visit of the loke virsa heritage museum and have dinner at Damene Koh
Day 2: ISLAMABAD
Shahpur Village and drive by the parliament house, supreme court of Pakistan and Prime Minister Secretariat and a visit to the Rawal Lake. Return to Hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 3: ISLAMABAD TAXILA
In the morning we will depart for the world-famous Archeological Museum at Taxila, which houses a grand collection of Gandara Art and Artifacts. This will be followed by a visit to the Sirkup Archeological Site and the second city of Taxila.
We will also visit the ancient Buddhist Monastery at Julian. This site dates back to almost 2500 hundred years and is included in the UNESCO heritage list. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 4: ISLAMABAD TO SWAT VIA MARDAN, MALAKAND PASS
Early morning departure for the scenic valley of Swat. En route visiting the historic Malakand Pass. It was here that the young Captain Winston fought one of the major battle against the locals in 1896. The young Winston was posted at Chak Dhara in a small picket while representing daily telegraph of London as its correspondent. This was same young Winston who became later on Sir Winston Churchil the war time Prime Minister of Great Britain. On arrival at Saidu Sharif transfer to hotel rest for the day at leisure.
DAY 5: SAIDU SHARIF – MURGHAZAR – ISLAMPUR AND MINGORA
Morning excursion trip to the scenic Murghazar Valley to visit the white palace of the late Vali of Swat and to drive to Islampur Village where the native weavers make traditional blanket, shawls, stoles and other woolen material with beautiful design which are valued as the Great Souvenirs as they are handmade. On the way back to the hotel the short visit to the Mingora Bazaar which display a variety of local handmade ladies dresses with colorful embroidery. The bazaar is also famous for a variety of local jewelry (silver & gold). One can also find precious and semi-precious cut and un-cut stone excavated from the various mines. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 6: SAIDU SHARIF – BAHRAIN – KALAM
After breakfast, we will start travelling along the Swat River towards Kalam, the main attraction in upper Sawat Valley. En route we will make a short stop at Bahrain for lunch and then continue our journey to Kalam. We will check in to hotel and stay for night in Kalam. (Subject to weather and road condition)
DAY 7: KALAM – LAKE MAHOODAND
After breakfast we will leave for Mahoodand Lake Excursion. Mahoodand is said to be one of the most scenic spots on earth and frequented by nature lovers for camping, hiking and trout fishing. After spending some time at Lake we drive back to Kalam and stay there for night. (Subject to weather and road condition)
DAY 8: KALAM – MALAAN JABA – ISLAMABAD
We will start driving back to Islamabad and on arrival transfer to airport to connect with PIA flight for London.
In case visit from Bahrain onward to Kalam is not possible due to bad weather and road condition then two days alternate trip to Malanjaba and Saidusharif will provided.
